PLAYA LA SALADITA HIGHLIGHTS

LA SALADITA SURF

Playa La Saladita is the best left-hand point break in all of Mexico, offering up long, cruising rides of over 100 meters in warm water.  The waves are consistent across seasons and friendly for beginners and longboard aficionados alike. Plenty of rental shops and surf schools dot the beach as you walk towards the break, and you'll start seeing surfers enter the lineup as soon as day breaks and into the last light of sunset.

Shortboarders can explore other breaks up the coast - The Ranch and Palo Alto.  You can even choose if you want to drive the 30 minutes or simply rent a ride on a panga heading there from the Saladita shore.

THE FOOD

La Saladita is a mega-chill beach town.  Close to the break, there are cantinas serving fish tacos, camarones, margaritas, and the best guacamole you can imagine.  The best part?  You never even have to put on your shoes.

For those looking to work and play, there are a few hangouts with open tables, artisanal coffee, wifi, and a steady stream of zoom calls.

Pick up your snacks and a few staples at a new market just up the road, and you're set.

Our number one recommendation?  Hire local chefs into your own kitchen, and have them prepare chile rellenos and a fresh catch of the day - our property manager will help you arrange this special treat.

LOOKING FOR MORE?

Troncones is a bohemian town 20 minutes by car with excellent restaurants, shops, yoga classes, and boutique hotels.  Think of it as what Tulum was like when still undiscovered...

If the big city is calling you, head to Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa, 40 minutes away by highway.  With a fascinating story, these sister cities are 4 miles apart on two aquamarine bays. Ixtapa is a resort town, and Zihuatanejo retains more of it's old-town history.  Get ready for stunning beaches, great food, fun experiences and rich history.

GETTING TO LA SALADITA

Fly into Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo International Airport, 40 minutes away.  Drive north on Highway 200 until you reach the town of Los Llanos, then turn left to follow Camino a la Saladita to the beach town.

We can arrange a private driver to take you to and from the airport.  If you're renting a car, there are agencies on site at the airport, but we recommend going offsite if you don't want to be nickeled and dimed.  Ask our property manager for details.
